Sunday, 29th of September.

THE DAY!!! I've bought the ticket since July, all I did was counting the days ever since, to see The 1975 perform. The highlight of this story is I went to this concert by my selffffffff 😏

So this is how the story began...

Picture 1: Beautiful neon set

On June, I heard a rumor that The 1975 will come back to Jakarta after their first performance at We The Fest 2016. I was super excited and instantly sought for informartion through their website, and reputable promotor in town but I found nothing. I don't want to be fooled by false news though, so I just waited for the confirmation. Until one day, The promotor who held this event posted a photo on their instagram and The 1975 announced of their Jakarta Dates, I bought the ticket without a second thought.

Fast forward to the day, I honestly felt so uneasy because I went to the concert alone but to hell with that, all I cared about I was going to see Matty. Anyhow on that day, I was scrolling through the promotor's instagram to tune up with the venue updates. I read on the comment section that there's some people who's got no accompany, so I took an initiative to send a message to one of them, to be my concert mate. And luckily, we both agreed to meet in person at the venue.

Picture 3: The Bracelet

03:30 PM  I have arrived at the venue, it was not hard to find it because the promotor gave us such an informative explanation map. Ticket exchange was pretty simple, I showed them the barcode, they gave me the bracelet. The gate was open at 4:00 pm, but the queue was very long at that time.

I texted my concert mate, our meeting point at Festival A Gate. She told me she's wearing Black Shirt and Floral Bucket Hat. But to tell you the truth, eighty percent people was wearing Black Shirt lol it's really hard to tell because we've never really met in person in real life. I was wearing yellow dress, it's gonna be easy for her to spotted me. Long story short, I saw a girl waving at me and that's where I know it was her, So I went to her. I thought this idea gonna be awkward but I was wrong. We get along really well.

4:30 PM Entering the venue, queuing for 2 hours.

Picture 7: I Likes America and America Likes Me

The opening intro "The 1975" was the most awaited part, it gives goosebumps. It was my second experience of The 1975's concert but I should admit theirs is the best concert I've been to. The first time I knew about this band when I was listening to HNSCC song from Music For Cars EP back in 2013, the song holds no lyrics but I fell in love with the music. Later I found out that HNSCC was a song for his Nana who've died caused by cancer. HNSCC stands for the type of the cancer, Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma. He's such a sweet kid, isn't he?

It wasn't Chocolate, Sex, You, Robbers, But HNSCC made me fall in love with him at the first time.

It all began with the black and white era, until they decided to neon color. It all began when Matty still wearing black leather jacket and skinhead haircut until he decided to wearing floral skirt and red lipstick. I've been there, and now still being a fan.

A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationship Tour was beautiful, they brought 22 songs including Music For Cars, I Like It When You Sleep You're So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, and Notes of A Conditional Form.

It's such a mixed feelings and surreal. I find myself enjoy screaming "POISON ME DADDYY" and "KIDS DONT WANT RIFFLES THEY WANT SUPREME". Thank you The 1975, it was one of the greatest moment in my life.

I record some videos here: prastihardita/the1975

I spent my whole days at the mall and I'm getting sick of it (well not really, I love malls). This sunday, I tried something different instead of go around the mall I chose to took a Painting Class at Bartega Studio. This event of A Bazaar in Souk was held in Ruci's Art Space Senopati. They offer two package deals for this class: Paint only for 24,3$ and Paint and Sip (with wine) for 31,3$. All materials are provided. The event started at 2 pm. When I got there, everyone started painting early and I was kind of nervous, the last time I had a relationship with the brush is for my eyebrows lol jk, It was sophomore year in high school during Art Class which a billion years ago...

But don't be panic, this event aims to unleash your creativity and doesn't care about the result. You ain't Claude Monet nor Van Gogh... plus, they gave you a guide paper how to do it step my step. You can easily ask the Bartega crew if you having a hard time or confusion to mixing the colors. It's newbie-friendly. I was so happy during this class, tried to mixing the colors to paint with a good music as a backsound. I was lost in my own world, in a good way.

Picture 3: Everyone seems to enjoy their own canvas

It was a pleasant experience and a great way to release stress, also, you can take your canvas home after you finish the painting class. I'm planning to try another class after this, like pottery or cooking i dont know let's see.

Been wanting to visit Zoo a long time ago, finally I got chance to do it. It was an unplanned trip as usual, we went to Taman Safari which located in the mountainous area of Cisarua. We pay for 22.9$ as admission fee (Foreign visitors will be charge for 31,2$). We spent almost a day but couldn't reach all the venue. There's so many things that we could explore here, it's quite worth every penny. It's a best choice to spend a weekend or day off with family or friends here. Here are some highlights of Taman Safari:

Safari Ride

There are two sections for Safari Ride, the one with a "Feeding Allowed" Sign and the one with dangeraous predators (visitors should keep the windows closed at all times). Pay attention for signs to ensure the safety.

First section got me super excited, we're allowed to feed various animals with some carrots (we bought at stalls before entering Taman Safari). They seems really aggresive by swarmed around the car and I was super excited!!

Recreation

After Safari Ride, we stopped by at Rain Forest Wonderland. There are numerous places to eat inside, but we chose to play several rides on the playground instead of having lunch here.

The Dolphins and Cowboy Shows

The Dolpins shows was scheduled at 1 pm, we enjoyed the shows for twenty minutes. I remembered the last time I attend this kinda shows when I was three years old lol. You can also get a chance to take a photo with the dolphin, but they will charge you for an extra fee. After the dolphins, We went to Wild-Wild West Cowboys shows which scheduled at 1:30 pm. The Cowboy shows will give you tense feeling with a lot of gunshots, horses running around, plus the fire effect. Unfortunately, we're not allowed to record any video during the shows.

Picture 17: I forgot the other name, but those two are Justin and Naruto. Why on earth...

Picture 18: Waiting the Cowboy Gate to open

Panda Palace

We catch the shuttle bus to get here, it was a long queuing. The palace located in high area, we can enjoy fresh mountain air because it's suitable environment for Panda. Anyway, Brown Panda is my favorite. I wanted to take him home.

Thanks to a friend who'd posted this book's review on her instagram. Once I read "Do not rush. Get ready to relax and unwind." as a highlight, I think I need this book to enlighten me, who always happen to get through a chaotic day, inevitably.

Have you ever feel that time flies really fast that you cannot digest everything at once? You barely enjoy the moment. You listen to a song but you're not appreciate every tone on it, you eat an ice cream but you can't tell the taste, it was a new year's eve and then bam... it's the end of the year again. Sounds familiar? That happens because you're not living in the moment, you've taken everything for granted. This world turns you into inhumane and not feel a thing.

Picture 1: Book Cover of Sloth Philosophy

So, this book will teach us how to live our life in a sloth way. Sloth is the slowest animal on earth, They spend most of their lives hanging upside down in the trees. The analogy of a Sloth from this book is trying to illustrate how we could use this Sloth Philosophy to slow the fuck down, no need to rush about evertyhing. Especially for every hustlers out there, the question is: What are you chasing? What's the rush? What is it, actually? Repeat this questions whenever you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed out.

It happened to me once, I got plenty of work to do and the deadline is pretty tight. My boss kept pushing me to get everything done at once which made me really stressed for fuck's sake, I skipped breakfast, I was late for lunch, I didn't have much time to catch up with friends on break lunch. This thing though, really took up our time. We commit to a lot of things we don't necessarily want or need to do. Yes, I admit it's requisite and part of our job when it comes to work. But most of the times, I ignore my own needs in order to do it. I need to rethink my priorities. And part of slowing down from Sloth Philosophy is realising you don't have to do everything or be all things to everyone.

Fact about Sloth:

"Sloths travel about 40 yards per day or about 6cm per second. They don't care how long it takes to get anywhere. They're chill, slow and steady wins the race remember, if Sloths were into racing – which they're not."

Picture 2: Fun Facts about Sloth

There are five aspects that we can learn from Sloth-Guru that should be considered:

1. Health and Wellness

How many times you choose Fast Food instead of chopping your own salad and fruit? The reason is pretty simple, we'd rather choose something that won't troublesome us on the sidelines of our busy life. Try to slow down for better health, go to grocery store, pick some veggie and fruits to fill your trolley.

2. Breath Deeply

Breathing should be an easy thing to do, we do it every second in our life. The problem is, we’re often not breathing effectively, and this can negatively impact our health. We’re so tense, or hunched over,  that we’re barely taking in or exhaling more than a little puff of air. So straighten up. Set your shoulders back. Give those lungs room to expand. And take a deep breath.

3. Seek The Quiet Place

Picture 3: Sloth in a quiet place

When was the last time you're on a quiet place and all you do is just stare at the stars? Nah, been a long time ago right? Skygazing will soothe your nerves instantly. Stop for a moment, and look up for thirty seconds per day is enough.

4. Don't let the hates get you down

Life can be tough sometimes. People can be judgemental about our looks, our lifestyle, our flaws. They might say mean or petty shit that'll spread the negativity which can impacts our mental health. We need to control our anger and ignore the negatives, enjoy our life the way sloth did. Everyday feels like Friday.

5. Embrace Forest Bathing

" Popularised in Japan, where it’s been an important part of preventative medicine since the 1980s, shinrin-yoku means ‘forest bathing’ or ‘taking in the forest atmosphere’. Spending time in nature – literally looking at trees – is scientifically proven to reduce blood pressure and stress levels as well as improve sleep quality, mood, energy levels and focus. Sloths already know this, of course – that’s why they’re so stress-free. So go find a forest and stand in it. Even a little park will do. Breathe in and out, look around and go ahead – give a tree a hug. You’ll feel better." (Quoting from the book)

Hi!! This is gonna be my first post of this year, isn't it?

*dusting off the feed*

Well, for starters, there are so many things going on lately even it's only the third month of 2019.

First of all, the new job is reallyyy reaaalllyyyy consumes me (both the energy and the mind). Still trying to adjust with all the pressures. Well last month, I fell sick and was hospitalized for 7 days. At the same time, my Grandpa just passed away. I've sent all my prayers to him. February was so gloomy.

After a long hard workweek which really drain my energy, I felt like a robot who woke up every morning being a corporate slave washed away by a hectic work until noon. Fell asleep at night and repeat that shitty routines from Monday to Friday. I was about to give up back and forth, complaining and whining about everything... Wow adulthood is really sucks man, the thought of making your own money were nothing like the kind you'd expect as an independent carreer-woman. Well you've been working as hell, you got paid, but you also got bills to pay. There was one of  the hella day while I was on the train to work, I called my mom and said I can't stand it anymore, I want to quit the job and come back home instead. She said "Okay, do not hesitate, come home then. I've never asked you to bother yourself, it was your choice after all."

But I've been thinking and thinking and alot of thinking until later on I realized, that is the phase of life you have to face it whether you like it or not. I tried to see the silver lining though. I convinced my self to have some responsibilities and stood up for what I chose. I believe all the struggles will pay off eventually. So yeah, I survived (at least until now, lol)

I just need to find a way how to recharge myself. So last weekend, I went on staycation with close friends. We book a nice place to stay from Airbnb. It is located in such an exquisite neighborhood at Gerlong-Bandung. The house is warm, clean, and smells really good. It gave us the comfy feeling like home yet still so fancy like on a vacation. The time we've spent are good enough to help us rebuild the positivity energy. Laughing till it hurts was the best medicine in the world.

Picture 1: Marge and Homer at the Simpsons.

The title of this post is quoting from Judith Hanson Lasater, she's an american yoga instructor and also a writer. I read this quotes somewhere in Refinery29 page, and it really hit me.

You know when they said Life begins at the end of your comfort zones is totally true, you won't upgrade your level until you get your ass out and make something happen. I've been complaining and wrote a lot of rants about how my life stuck in a second gear, how I hate my job, how I haven't achieved anything at this age. Ironically, I did nothing to change that situation either. I am a whiny woman without a single act. Tiny Whiny Dita, she think by whining she can change everything.

At the end of november, my friend (who has been obssessed with Japan) asked me to come with her to a NIN2 Japanese Companies Job Fair at Ritz Carlton Kuningan. I agreed, we made a reservation to get a barcode a week before the event. Plot twist, It was raining on that day, I wanted to cancel my appointment because I was a lazybones. But my friend still persuaded me "Come on, it's a great opportunity unless you want to stay on your job for 10 years then I couldn't say anything.." lol those words slapped me in the face, so okay why the hell not. Without any expectation, I spread my cover letter plus resume sheet to several companies. Because you know how desperate I was.

After two weeks, I was contacted by a recruiter from a company that I've been submit my application to. They called me for an interview, I was really apprehensive at first but it went really well at the end. I really want this job even more after I did some digging about the company profile which really assuring because it is the largest retail in Asia. But I don't want to put my hopes up too high. So I kept telling myself "Okay, you have pass the interview and now let God do the rest..."

Not long enough to wait though, a great thing did happen afterwards, a recruiter called me to inform that I got the job, we talked about salary negotiation and they offer me a good package employment deal including all the benefits. Therefore, without a second thought, I took it. I finally nailed it!! The process is really fast, It took only one week square away. I still can't believe till now. One thing that I can't hardly wait was to quit my current job at the end of December. I feel so effing relieved, so happy, so sad at the same time. I mean this is what I really want, but I have to leave all of  this  routine that I have lived in for these past two years and almost a half. But what I learned from this year is if I change nothing in my life, then nothing will changes. I need to step out of my comfort zone, because that's when the magic happens.

Could you imagine what would happen if I let myself fell asleep or napping in my room instead of came to job fair that day? Just because it was raining for crying out loud I almost losing such a great opportunity. Thanks to my friend, who was being very supportive. I wouldn't be able to get this chance without her, I owe her one. So guys, lesson learned; Do not miss the boat.

The time has finally come, I told my boss that I quit the job. You should see the look on his face, he was a bit surprised and freeze for a second, it seems like he refused to believe. He lectured me and tried to make me scared about the real work-life that he was pretty sure I wouldn't survive. He tried to hold me back with his persuasive speech by offer me a raise. However I told him this is my final decision and I know exactly what he was trying to say, but I chose to take and embrace a new challenge, leading in this field where I actually wasn't very experienced instead of stay in a safe role. Certainly, you can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs. No job is without risk, but the new challenge represent an opportunity for growth.

Well apparently this new year, I'm gonna have a whole new adventure; The revival for myself. New job, new friends, new environment. I hope everything will going smoothly as I wish, I hope I know what's going on in my life in this late 20's. Because I've spent a lot of fun these past three years but now I have to put myself together, get something out of my system and let's facing the real adulthood life. Stop messing around with all the mundaneness, because the time is over.

Anyway, Happy new year y'all!

Notes: I have been blogging this since third week of december, but now I'm forcing myself to finish this post. I'm lack of productivity lately.
