Picture 1: I captured some moments during Quarantine with Instax.

“They say an end can be a start - Feels like I’ve been buried yet I’m still alive - It’s like a bad day that never ends - I feel the chaos around me - A thing I don’t try to deny - I’d better learn to accept that - There are things in my life that I can’t control”

If I ever Feel Better – Phoenix

Let’s admit it, this is one of the “Things you thought would never happen to you until they actually did”. We wonder if everything will be the same again after this Covid-19 Outbreak. This pandemic lockdown has ruined all of our plans. When things go as planned we feel in control, but when life throws a curveball, it leaves us the uncertainty feeling.

It’s been 3 months the government has told us to stay at home, being self-quarantine, to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus. We’re all feeling devastated, we want everything back to normal soon. Business going down, some companies have to face bankruptcy, some people lose their jobs. We’re all trying to survive in this situation. This isn’t easy for everyone, and it happened all over the world.

Back in the days before the pandemic struck globally, we used to wake up every morning wishing we could just stay in bed instead of going to work. Raving about our commuting life, take a rain check on social event, skip gym class, etc. Outbreak reminds us what we took for granted after all this time, Now we’re willing to trade those Pre-Pandemic moments for everything. But despite all of these, let’s see the bright side of the pandemic. We always complain about not having enough time to get everything done or doing something that we love. Well now, say no more.. Maybe it’s the time for us to genuinely appreciate every single moment in our lives. Here I am going to share the most cherished moment during pandemic…

  • Work Environment at Home
We may have a difference perspective about working from home, some may think WFH makes us less productive because of the irregular working hours and so many distractions. To cope with that, we need to build work environment at home to make it more efficient. Plan the workflow every morning, dressed up like you’re going to work. Pajamas might be really comfortable, but you may also feel sluggish and unmotivated.

  • Self Care
Get up early every morning, hop on the mat, do yoga for only 15 minutes is enough to brighten the mood. Just because you won’t be interacting with another person, doesn’t mean you forget to take care of your appearance. Don’t wait until Beauty Salon open and let’s get rid of those hairy legs, buy a waxing kit and do it by yourself at home.

  • Sunbathing Under The Pretty Skies
People believes sunlight might kill Coronavirus, so everyone goes out to sunbathe. The fact is, studies found that sunlight is good to get the Vitamin D that produces in our body and also can strengthen the immune systems, it’s not directly prevent the disease itself. But the good thing is, we spare the time to sunbathe and enjoy the pretty skies outside.

  • Let’s Take a Trip to The Grocery Store
It’s a simple activity but becoming the most favorite thing to do during this past 3 months. The only reason we’re allowed to leave the house is to buy our daily needs. However, since Covid-19 numbers are increasing day by day, people would rather order groceries online more often using the delivery apps. Most people will find it not only convenient to buy online, but also will find it safe as well.

  • Chopping Your Own Meal
Since we have a lot of free time at home, everyone starts learning how to cook and bake. It’s a positive thing, in addition to learn new skills and enhance the productivity, we also become healthier.

  • Carpe Diem
Doing something that we loved. It is not a Productivity Contest indeed, but let’s seize the day! It could be painting, learn new language, writing a book that almost forgotten, reading a stack of unread books, learn how to sew or embroidery techniques, make a mask from unused materials, it could be anything you like.

Joseph Campbell Once said “We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy”.

Currently, we’re facing the transition phase to a new normal, to keep the economy running. Hence, we have to ensure that the health protocol is implemented with strict discipline in daily social activities.  So, don’t forget to bring ‘New Normal’ Starter Kit wherever you go: Mask/ Face Shield, Hand Sanitizer/ Hand Soap, Tissue, Eating Utensils.

Stay safe and Stay sane guys, xx.

Picture 1: Part of scene that he almost realized it was all being set up.

The Truman Show is a Science Fiction Comedy Film played by Jim Carrey. He's an ordinary insurance salesman who finally feels strange with everything around him. He observed the surroundings and find out that he's being set up in a loop, the things happen over and over again like a set in a movie. His entire life is a Tv Show and all the people around him are just actors. He decides to escape and sailing out of the city.

Imagine we're all living in The Truman Show, let's try to contemplate it. We all live in a simulation, nothing is real. We're being watched by a man named God who controls our every movement.

They talked about Fate. They Said our life is beyond our control, everything that will happen was written long before we were all born. It's called Determinism, when all the event occurs without our permission and it's usually inevitable. But where were we before we were conceived? Some religion believes there's Pre-Existence phase, The beforelife is a belief that each individual human soul existed before mortal conception and at some point before birth enters or is placed into the body. That's when God wrote every single detail about your life, even your death.

Ironically, if we can't pursue our dreams no matter how hard we tried, they said God has another plan for you. But have you ever think it's because God does not predestine you to be who you want to be. This Destiny/Fate/Determinism concept somehow confused me, so no matter how hard we try to change our lives we will still end up the same? The question is, are we the ones who responsible for making decisions? Or we're just live the way it's written down? Nobody actually knows.

Notes: This post inspired by "too many things to mull over in a room during quarantine days".

Last weekend, I decided to join Yoga Class in Mood Studio. This studio located at Jl Benda, Kemang, South Jakarta. We booked a slot for Gentle Flow Meditative Class that costs for 8US$ per visit.

Disclaimer: This event held before Covid-19 Pandemic strikes our country. I wanted to post this two months ago, but again I was lack of motivation. Smh

There are so many reasons why people join yoga class nowadays, being healthy is a new trend. Either simply for lifestyle or to escape the chaotic of routines. I've been hooked with Yoga since I was in college, but I did not spare much time to practice so I guess I'm stuck at beginner level lol.

Yoga offers a combo of health benefits for us. It's classified by several types; Yin Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga, etcetera. Each class gives different purpose such as for increasing flexibility, toning muscle strength, better posture, recovering from injuries. The breathing, streching, and meditating techniques are to build strength and awareness in both mind and our body. It gives us Zen feeling, release tension, and help us to relax that we can't get from only shopping 😋

The Class that I've join at Mood Studio was pretty impressive. The instructor brought positive energy, I can feel that he genuinely warm, guiding us through every moves and explains all the aspects of poses and breath. I feel really comfortable.

In this current situation that we are all facing, yoga could bring some positive energy to keep us sane. Try Daily Yoga app, so you can easily practice at home. Stay healthy and safe guys xx
